On September 29, 2017, the case manager attended the OCRP Summit at Mendota Mental Health in Madison, Wisconsin. The keynote speaker, Dr. Christina Pietz, presented the keynote address of risk prevention for suicide.
The seminar was most educational in that it addressed identifying at-ristk in the following groups of people:
As our case managers work closely with clients that fall into one or more of these categories, it is hoped that the knowledge gained will help us better recognize when someone is presenting with risk of suicide.
Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. There is no problem so great that it cannot be resolved with time and care.
